According to the structural characteristics of power cables, they can be divided into the following categories:

The all-inclusive type: The all-inclusive power cable refers to a cable in which the conductor, insulation layer, and sheath are all continuous and have no clear dividing line. This cable structure is relatively simple and is usually used in low-voltage and medium-voltage power systems.

Split-phase type: Split-phase power cables refer to cables in which each phase conductor is independent and has a clear demarcation line between them. This cable structure is commonly used in high-voltage and ultra-high-voltage power systems to improve the transmission capacity of the cable and the stability of the system.

Steel tube type: The steel tube type power cable is a cable structure in which the conductor is wrapped in a steel tube and filled with insulating material between the steel tube and the conductor. This cable structure has high mechanical strength and corrosion resistance, and is commonly used in power systems in harsh environments such as underground or underwater.

Flat type: Flat power cables refer to cables with a flat cross-sectional shape, typically used in urban power grids and industrial power applications. This cable structure can save space and facilitate installation and maintenance.

Self-contained type: Self-contained power cables refer to cables that have no obvious dividing line between the conductor and the insulation layer, and the conductor itself has certain insulating properties. This cable structure is usually used in special environments or power systems with special requirements.

It should be noted that the above classification method is not the only one. According to different classification standards, power cables can also be classified into other types. At the same time, with the continuous development and innovation of cable technology, new cable types and structures are constantly emerging.
