Cables are usually divided into alternating current (AC) cables and direct current (DC) cables according to the form of power transmission. This is because power systems mainly have two forms: AC and DC.

AC cable: A cable used to transmit AC power. AC power is the most common form of electrical energy in power systems because it can be easily boosted or lowered in voltage during long-distance transmission through transformers. AC cables are widely used in home, industrial, power system and other fields.

DC cable: A cable used to transmit direct current. Although direct current is less common than alternating current in power systems, it has advantages in certain applications, such as long-distance power transmission, certain industrial equipment, and new energy sources such as solar and wind energy. DC cables have important applications in these areas.
