What are the categories of power cable according to their structural characteristics?

Jan 30, 2024

1. Overall-packing type: A cable that directly wraps an insulating layer around the outside of the cable conductor without using insulated wire cores is called an overall-packing cable. The early oil-impregnated paper-insulated power cable was an overall-packing cable.

2. Phase separation type: Cables with an insulated core separation structure are called phase separation type cables.

3. Steel tube type: The cable with the conductor core, insulation layer, and protective layer all placed in a metal tube, with the metal tube serving as the protective layer, is called the steel tube type cable.

4. Flat type: The cable in which the conductor core and insulation layer are laid in parallel in the metal skeleton and the metal skeleton is used as the protective layer is called flat cable.

5. Self-contained type: The conductor core and insulation layer are placed in a sealed metal container at the same time, and the insulated oil inside the sealed container is used as the insulation for the power cable, which is called a self-contained cable.
